The ACUHO-I team is ready and willing to provide educational programs and resources that will support you in your goal to provide the best possible housing experience for students. Some of the services we offer include:
• Supporting educational conferences and workshops
• Producing association publications including books, the Journal of College & University Student Housing, and the Talking Stick magazine.
• Maintaining assorted online resources and responses to member inquiries
• Enabling member research projects

 | Sallie Traxler, Executive Director

Sallie Traxler has long been active in national and international
association management since 1993. ACUHO-I's Executive Director since
August 2004, she oversees the association's central office and works
closely with the Executive Board to fulfill the strategic plan and
serve the needs of association members.
Previously, Sallie served as the Executive
Director of the Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA) and as
Director of Development and Strategic Alliances for the National
Business Incubation Association (NBIA).
She received both her bachelor's and master's
degrees from Morehead State University in Kentucky where she graduated
with honors.

James Baumann, Director of Communications and Marketing

As the Director of Communications and Marketing for ACUHO-I, James Baumann oversees a number of vehicles to increase the association's visibility and deliver educational and informative materials to the membership. He serves as editor of the Talking Stick magazine while also overseeing the publication of ACUHO-I books, other publications, and the association's Web site.
Before joining ACUHO-I, James was a contributing editor for the award-winning OHIO magazine and the author of two books -- including a guide to Ohio colleges. He also spent five years managing copywriting and graphic design for a software company.
James graduated with a bachelor's degree from Capital University and earned a master's degree in magazine journalism from Ohio University.

Judy Dallas, Executive Assistant

Judy Dallas serves as a liaison between the ACUHO-I central office and the many volunteers that do so much valuable work for the association. Along with helping enable the different volunteer committees, Judy is also responsible for central office human resources.
Judy has previously worked in member services for a variety of nonprofit organizations and has a successful background in customer service and sales.
She is pursuing her bachelor's degree in business administration at The Ohio State University and is a member of the Ohio Society of Association Executives.

Emily Glenn, Corporate Librarian

Emily Glenn has been ACUHO-I’s librarian for more than a year. She graduated from Kent State University’s Master’s in Library and Information Science program in 2006 in Columbus, Ohio.
Emily’s position is progressing from a Librarian I designation to a Librarian II. This change is occurring in part because of the Librarian II-level duties Emily has already taken on. The librarian’s roles now include broader information and data storage decisions affecting all of ACUHO-I.
Emily lives with her husband and a neurotic terrier, Fritz.

Josh Goldman, Director of Education

Josh Goldman, as the Director of Education, is charged with the
creation and management of several programs and events that will extend
the knowledge base for ACUHO-I members. He oversees ACUHO-I major
events, such as the annual conference. He is also responsible for
initiating the creation of a certification program for the college
housing profession.
Josh brings years of experience in the education, training, and
management functions of non-profits; he most recently served Phi Gamma
Delta fraternity headquarters as Director of Education. He is a trainer
with Ken Blanchard Companies as well as a professional
speaker/consultant to higher education audiences regarding high risk
drinking.
Josh earned his bachelor's degree in psychology
from Indiana State University and a master's degree in College Student
Personnel from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

| Hitesh Girdhani, Systems Manager hitesh@acuho-i.org
Hitesh Girdhani is the systems manager at ACUHO-I. He will provide technology solutions, implement online services and maintain the IT infrastructure. Prior to coming to ACUHO-I, he was a supercomputer software specialist at the Mississippi Center for Supercomputing Research. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi.

| Lisa Martin, Meetings and Events Manager lisa@acuho-i.org
Lisa Martin is responsible for planning, developing, managing, promoting, executing, and evaluating all ACUHO-I events.
Prior to taking the ACUHO-I position, Lisa served as an event developer with The Ohio Society of CPAs for more than eight years. Her past work includes developing programming in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Taxation and the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. She also previously taught freshman composition part-time.
Lisa earned her master's degree from the University of Toledo and her bachelor's degree from Adrian College.

Camille Perlman, Assistant Editor

Camille Perlman lends her writing and editing talents to assists with the production and publication of ACUHO-I publications. As assistant editor for the Talking Stick, she helps create the magazine by helping shape the editorial plan and also advises authors regarding editorial plans, deadlines, and submission guidelines.
A member of the ACUHO-I central office staff since 1998, Camille compliments her editorial background with a great deal of institutional knowledge.
A member of the Society of National Association Publications (SNAP), Camille graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism.

Laura Pietrykowski, Membership and Volunteer Coordinator

Laura Pietrykowski is the membership and volunteer coordinator for ACUHO-I. In that position she is responsible for member recruitment and retention, database management, and volunteer managment. She also helps support the association's education department.
Laura started with ACUHO-I as a student employee. During her years in that position she assisted in almost every part of the ACUHO-I central office operations and has become extremely familiar with the needs of the association and its members.
She graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor's degree in human ecology with a specialization in consumer sciences.

Angela Sherman, Accountant

Angela Sherman is the finance assistant for ACUHO-I. In that role she manages the association's accounts payable and accounts receivable as well as pledges and donations made to the ACUHO-I Foundation.
Angela came to ACUHO-I with more than four years accounting experience and a great deal of customer service experience. She graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio, with a bachelor's degree in accounting.

| Rosaland Tye, Finance Director rosaland@acuho-i.org
Rosaland Tye, as the Director of Finance and Administration will contribute to ACUHO-I by providing financial oversight, development of operational policies and procedures, act as liaison to the ACUHO-I Executive Board and Foundation Board.
Previously, Rosaland served as the Director of Business Administration for the New Salem Baptist Church and as Director of Personal Property Tax Division for the Franklin County Auditors Office. In addition, she brings with her over 15 years of experience in the area of auditing, financial, and cost accounting.
Rosaland earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Wilberforce University and a master degree in executive business administration from Ashland University.

Walt Vivod, Office Manager

As the ACUHO-I office manager, Walt Vivod serves as primary point of contact between the association's central office and its membership. He delivers a broad range of office clerical and organizational services for the association.
Walt brings with him extensive experience with managing phone systems and databases as well as exceptional customer service skills. These are utilized to great extent as he helps with event registration, responding to association member requests, and enabling the work of the ACUHO-I central office.
Walt received an associate's degree in applied business/medical secretarial from Terra State Community College. |
