Guidelines and practices for campus housing

The ACUHO-I Standards and Ethical Principles for College and University Housing Professionals are a compendium of best practices all colleges and universities operating student housing are strongly encouraged to use. Written and revised by ACUHO-I Professional Standards Committee members, the standards are to be used to improve the quality of the post-secondary student experience, and the professional management of campus housing programs.

Use of these standards is voluntary. ACUHO-I does not certify student housing programs, and university reaccreditation processes do not require compliance with these standards. The standards have been written in broad terms in order to meet the needs of ACUHO-I’s diverse membership.
