Definition of Groups:

• The Academic Initiatives Committee creates a support and collaboration network for those who work in Academic Initiatives and discovers new ways to integrate academics into all aspects of the student residential experience. Learn more.

• The Apartments Committee focuses on all aspects of the campus apartment living experience for single students, families, graduate students, international students, non-traditional students, and faculty and staff members. Learn more.

• The Awards and Recognition Committee determines the recipients of ACUHO-I awards using standards set forth by the ACUHO-I Executive Board. Learn more.

• The Benchmarking Services Committee helps implement the ACUHO-I benchmarking program by providing information towards the development of benchmarking tools and assisting institutions to utilize the tools for Continuous Quality Improvement. Learn more.

• The Business Operations Committee will be responsible, in conjunction with the rest of the committee and other professionals in their area, to determine the critical and timely topics that should be covered at the conference, using assessment and evaluative techniques. Learn more. 

• The Chief Housing Officer (CHO) Training Institute Committee plans all aspects of the CHO Training Institute, including curriculum development and selecting and preparing faculty. Learn more.

• The U.S. Community College Task Force is to provide information and recommendations on programs, services, or considerations that ACUHO-I should provide to the U.S. community college network to enhance their ability to provide great service and programs to their housing operations. Learn more.

• The Conference Services Committee educates members regarding the benefits of developing a conference service program to be hosted on their respective campuses and assists member institutions plan and develop those programs. Learn more.

• The Corporate Relations Committee works to promote corporate involvement with ACUHO-I, develop and enhance corporate relationships, and promote the ACUHO-I Research and Education Foundation. Learn more.

• The Credentialing Task Force researches and evaluates the implementation of an credentialing program, with the a focus on core competencies, designed to promote and encourage the further professional development of all ACUHO-I members. Learn more.

• The Development of the Programs for the Southern Africa Chapter Task Force will formulate and implement a recommended strategic plan for the continuous development of operations of the current South Africa agreement. Learn more.

• The Exhibits Committee plans, coordinates, and assists exhibitiors that participate in the ACUHO-I Annual Conference and Exposition and Conference Series. Learn more.

• The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgendered Issues Network provides support for and also educates ACUHO-I members regarding the issues and needs of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered students and staff. Learn more.

• The Global Initiatives Network assists in expanding the international membership of ACUHO-I, corresponds with other international associations, and promotes the Association's international activities. Learn more.

• The Housing Facilities and Services Committee partners with APPA: Leadership in Educational Facilities to educate members about the best practices for maintaining, building, or renovating campus housing facilities. Learn more.

• The Housing Internship Committee provides a benefit to the member institutions by providing student training and educational opportunities beyond the classroom in areas of housing and food services, and provides a benefit to the students who participate. Learn more.

• The Information Technology Committee assists the members with understanding and staying current with the ever-changing technology and its applications to housing operations (i.e., assignments, "on-line" applications, networks, etc.) while also assisting the major studies regarding technology. • The International Study Committee coordinates the study tour just prior to the Annual Conference & Exposition. Responsibilities include contacting institutions in the region of ACE to arrange tours of campuses. Learn more.

• The James C. Grimm National Housing Training Institute (NHTI) Committee plans the annual NHTI, determines the curriculum, and selects and prepares faculty. Learn more.

• The Journal Board oversees the article selection and publication of the peer reviewed Journal of College and University Student Housing. Learn more.

• The Local Arrangements Committee for the Annual Conference and Exposition will be responsible for marketing within the region and bringing the local flavor of the region to the conference as well as coordinating the volunteers. Learn more.

• The Marketing and Communications Committee educates members regarding the benefits and methodology of using marketing strategies in housing (i.e., publicity, assignments, conferences, etc.) and food service (i.e., meal plans, catering, etc.) operations and educates members how to keep the benefits of these programs in the forefront on their campuses. • The Membership Committee assists in the recruitment of new association members as well as retaining existing memberships. Learn more.

• The Multicultural Affairs Network assists to ensure participation in the Association by members from underrepresented groups and encourages diversity in the administration of housing operations. Learn more.

• The Nominations Committee oversees the nomination of candidates to the ACUHO-I Executive Board. It ensures at least two candidates per elected position as well as a candidate pool representative of the diversity of the Association. Learn more.

• The Placement Exchange Committee coordinates the annual Placement Exchange in partnership with ACUHO-I and NASPA. Learn more.

• The Professional Standards Committee reviews and updates the ACUHO-I Ethical Principles and Standards for college and university housing professionals. The Committee coordinates the Standards Institute. Learn more.

• The Program Committee plans and organizes the ACUHO-I Annual Conference and Exposition programs of the highest quality and broadest appeal. Learn more.

• The Public Policy Advisory Committee coordinates the Association's responses to pertinent legislative action, provides the Assocation with information regarding legislative action, and works with partner associations and the legislative coalition. Learn more.

• The Research Committee provides insights, guidance, and expertise in the formulation and implementation of the association’s research strategy. The research committee is responsible for determining and expanding the association’s research base, formulating a research plan, and identifying the critical issues and research opportunities in university housing. • The Small College Network investigates the unique needs of small college housing programs and makes recommendations to ACUHO-I on how the Association can better meet these needs.  Learn more.

• The STARS College Committee oversees the programming and organization of the annual STARS College held in conjunction with the ACUHO-I Annual Conference and Exposition. This event educates undergraduate students interested in pursuing the fields of student affairs, student housing, and/or campus dining. Learn more.

• The Sustainability Advisory Committee works closely with the Director of Sustainability to provide the Association recommendations on sustainable initiatives and to provide the membership with educational, social, and economic sustainability education and information. Learn more.

• The Talking Stick Advisory Board assists with recruiting authors and determining story ideas that will be of interest to the membership. Learn more.

• The Talking Stick Writers' Committee authors articles, assists with recruiting new writers, and provides feedback on issues that may be of interest to the membership. Learn more.
