STARS College is a three-day experience for undergraduate students interested in learning about the student affairs and campus housing professions. STARS College offers large group presentations, interactive activities, roleplay situations, self-evaluation, and small mentoring groups to educate participants about what a career in campus housing offers.

Due to the demand for this program, those interested in participating in STARS College must first apply and be selected. STARS College accommodates 40-55 students who must have at least one full year of undergraduate study remaining after August of 2013. They must also demonstrate significant interest in campus housing, residence life, and student affairs through their involvement or work experience during their time as an undergrad. In addition, each participant must show commitment from an on-campus mentor who will play a vital role in continued mentoring and exposure to the field after STARS College has concluded.

Fees include three (3) nights of double occupancy in university residence halls, registration materials, and STARS College meal package (dinner on Thursday, two meals on Friday, and two meals on Saturday).

Also, STARS College participants may stay for the ACUHO-I Annual Conference & Exposition, June 15-18, 2013, for an additional fee of $200 (USD). This fee includes registration and conference meal package, and requires some volunteer hours. It does not include lodging. Applicants must make their own conference hotel reservations.

Students are encouraged to solicit registration fee assistance from their department, student government, and other possible contributors to help defray costs of participation.

"STARS College has by far been one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences I've had so far. I learned so much about the road ahead, and gained some great friends to share the journey with! After STARS I knew that I was on the right track into going into the field of Student Affairs and that I was going to continue to work hard to reach my goals. The group of people that I spent three short days with have become life-long friends and colleagues. This opportunity was more than I could have even asked for." -  Ann Schafer, Class of 2012 STARS College graduate

Past STARS participants have enjoyed:
