The ACUHO-I Parthenon Award
The ACUHO-I Foundation’s most prestigious award, The Parthenon Award, recognizes supreme achievement in the profession, outstanding service, leadership, and contributions to the field of campus housing.
To be considered for this award, members must have contributed 10 years of service to the housing, residential life, or affiliated profession as well as five years of service at the regional or international level of ACUHO-I. Each year the recipients are recognized at the ACUHO-I Annual Conference & Exposition.
If you know of an individual, living or deceased, who meets the above listed considerations you may nominate the person for the Parthenon Award. To complete the nomination process, please complete the following steps:
- Review the criteria above to ensure the individual is eligible for the award.
- Submit a formal nomination letter that includes relevant information about the nominee as well as the impact that the individual has made on the campus housing profession. This letter should be submitted to the ACUHO-I Foundation chair-elect no later than October 1.
- After the letter is submitted and considered by the ACUHO-I Foundation, the champion will receive confirmation of the nominee's acceptance.
- The champion may then begin the process of soliciting the minimum $2,500 contribution required to complete the Parthenon Award process. The minimum must be collected before May 1 preceding the conference. Additional funds above and beyond may be collected indefinitely. The champion will receive monthly donation reports.
- Awards are limited to no more than seven recipients each year, so make your nomination early.
- Please note that tradition calls for these nominations and championing to be a secret so that the recipients may be surprised at the annual conference. Discretion is a must.
The Parthenon Award ceremony is one of the highlights of each year's conference. Take advantage of this opportunity to make sure a deserving colleague receives the recognition of the profession to which he or she has given so much. If you have any questions about this process, please email foundations@acuho-i.org.
