ACUHO-I
Research

ACUHO-I research strengthens the profession.

As a knowledge based organization, ACUHO-I is committed to the creation and dissemination of knowledge on university housing. Facilitating and conducting research is our vehicle for becoming an indispensable resource for our members.

The research committee provides insights, guidance, and expertise in the formulation and implementation of the association’s research strategy. The research committee is responsible for determining and expanding the association’s research base, formulating a research plan, and identifying the critical issues and research opportunities in university housing.

The ACUHO-I Research Committee is committed to the following goals:

  • The creation, dissemination and advancement of knowledge that informs policy and practice.
  • Encourage scholarly inquiry and promote use of research.
  • Develop, with input from a broad spectrum of practitioners, a research agenda (or topics) of most interest.
  • Communicate with practitioners and grad prep program faculty on research opportunities.
  • Serve as a resource for individuals engaging in research related to university housing and the students and guests that we serve.
  • Develop and establish research guidelines and instructions for access to membership for research and assessment purposes.  Guidelines should include submission of results to ACUHO-I, as well as the rights to publish or add to the ACUHO-I body of knowledge.
  • Develop a communication plan to encourage research among faculty, practitioners and students.

For any questions regarding current or future research projects, contact Jeff Doyle, chair of the Research Committee.
