ACUHO-I Business Operations Conference Planning Update
The ACUHO-I Business Operations Conference Planning Committee would like to take this opportunity to update you regarding plans for our first conference to be held in Columbus, Ohio October 4-7, 2009.
We just completed our site visit to the Hyatt Hotel in Columbus and we are excited about the discussions we had regarding planning for the conference program. Some of the components of the program will include:
- Keynote speaker, Jamie Wilhelm, who will specifically address the impact of the economic situation on the finances of Colleges and Universities.
- An opportunity for conference participants to sign up for dinner groups that will have specific topical focuses.
- A conference program that will offer over 60 program sessions. Programs will address the following major conference areas: technology, assignments, conferences, marketing, finance and administration.
- Conference programs that will address some of the “hot topic” requests submitted by you and your colleagues including:
- Leveraging Technology in the areas of assignments, marketing, conferences, finance and administration
- Negotiating Contracts
- Reviewing staffing structures
- Best Practices for effective marketing
- Housing Self Assignments and roommate matching
- Crisis Response and Recovery Plans
- Public/Private Partnerships
- The conference will also provide opportunities for participants to network and share ideas through a Marketing Swap Shop, roundtables and user groups, Corporate Connections Programs and Conference “Behind the Scenes” tours.
- Finally the Conference will conclude with a half day summit that will include a short presentation and affinity group discussions regarding Innovative Ideas for Responding to Current Economic Conditions. The summit will provide all of the participants an opportunity to discuss creative ways to decrease expenditures, increase revenues, create greater administrative efficiencies, leverage technology and create strategic partnerships.
