COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) Resources
Health organizations around the globe are responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus that was first detected in China and which has now been detected in more than 60 locations internationally.
ACUHO-I is partnering with a number of Associations and organizations who are experts in the space to gather the most accurate and up-to-date information on this rapidly evolving situation, and to create and share resources for our campus practitioners.
As we learn about and develop new resources, we will be sure to share these with members. In the interim, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Resources from the ACUHO-I Library: Pandemic Response
Many of our campuses have not faced a major pandemic on this level for several years. However, ACUHO-I members have created a number of resources in response to similar situations in the past that are now available in the ACUHO-I Online Library. While these are not specific to the current outbreak, they do include a core of information which many members may find helpful and informative.
Just In: Protecting the Herd (
Talking Stick, 2016)
This makes me sick: The challenge of keeping our residents—students—healthy when they live in our facilities.(Presentation from the 2014 ACUHO-I Facilities Conference).
Pandemic planning: Forewarned is forearmed (
Talking Stick, 2006)
This article looks at the importance of preparing for a flu pandemic on campus, and how housing personnel can ensure they are prepared to manage such a health catastrophe should it occur.
Conversations: How has your campus prepared for H1N1? (
Talking Stick, 2009)
This section documents an interactive discussion between ACUHO-I members about how their campuses have planned for and dealt with the threat of pandemic flu (H1N1) on their campus.
Besting biohazards: Departments can react swiftly and safely with a viable plan in place(
Talking Stick, 2016)
It's important to plan for a biohazard incident before one occurs, so action can be taken quickly if necessary. A proper response from facilities can help avoid a pandemic outbreak and keep staff and employees safe as well.
