Institute Overview
The 2026 ACUHO-I One Institute explores how housing and residence life professionals navigate the systems, cultures, and environments that shape their careers while intentionally building their professional identity and career story.
This two-day virtual institute will be held November 4–5, 2026 and will support participants in understanding organizational culture, assessing professional environments, and developing strategies for career growth and advancement.
Call for Educational Sessions
We invite housing and residence life professionals, higher education practitioners, consultants, and other subject matter experts to submit proposals for 50-minute educational breakout sessions.
Presenters should have demonstrated expertise, significant professional experience, or specialized knowledge related to their topic. Sessions should emphasize practical application, real-world insight, and interactive learning.
Focus Areas
Day 1: Systems & Culture
Understanding institutional culture, organizational dynamics, power and influence, leadership structures, institutional fit, and navigating change within higher education.
Day 2: The Practitioner
Professional identity development, career storytelling, mentorship and networking, communicating value, career transitions, and aligning work with personal values and goals.
Submission Criteria
Strong proposals will:
- Include 2–3 clear learning outcomes
- Demonstrate presenter expertise in the topic area
- Provide practical tools, frameworks, or strategies
- Include interactive elements and engagement
- Align with the institute theme and learning objectives
Session Format
- 50-minute breakout session
- One or more presenters
- Designed for engagement, discussion, and application

Notification of Acceptance
Presenters will be notified in August 2026.
