With the 2024 strategic plan, ACUHO-I identified strategic collaboration as one its strategic emphases. Pursuing more intentional relationships with the regions to engage and promote the work of campus housing was high on the list of objectives.
Most ACUHO-I members are also members of their regional association, giving them access to localized support, professional development, and leadership opportunities. While these associations are independent they provide important opportunities for strategic collaboration with ACUHO-I to provide cohesive support for the profession across all levels.
While independently governed, regional associations often align with ACUHO-I’s strategic initiatives. They share information, participate in joint events, and help strengthen the housing profession globally while addressing regional needs.
On January 15-16, ACUHO-I held its first-ever Regional Summit in Louisville, KY. This meeting brought together leaders from across North America to collaborate on key topics like education, technology, annual conferences, and shared services. The summit focused on tackling shared challenges, enhancing member engagement, and advancing strategic initiatives for collegiate housing professionals. With actionable recommendations now in place, ACUHO-I and its regional partners are set to work together on fostering innovation and improving operational effectiveness.
