How ACUHO-I Selects Annual Conference Locations
Choosing a conference location is a thoughtful and intentional process. We consider factors such as accessibility and transportation, hotel and convention capacity, overall affordability, and the opportunity to create a compelling attendee experience.
We also follow the 2023 guidelines established by the Executive Board, which prioritize identifying destinations that are welcoming and supportive of our members’ values — even when broader state policies may not fully align.
As an international association with members in 23 countries; all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and five territories/islands — geographic reach matters. Hosting events across North America helps ensure more members can participate — especially those for whom proximity and driving distance make attendance possible.
This balanced approach allows us to deliver conferences that are inclusive, accessible, and meaningful, while responsibly stewarding resources and honoring our commitment to members everywhere.
