Introducing the Residence Education Conference.

We are excited to unveil the new identity of the Residence Education Conference, formerly known as the Academic Initiatives Conference, which reflects the dynamic and evolving nature of residence life programming. This rebranding is not just a name change, but a reflection of the ongoing transformation in how we approach residential education and student development. The decision to rebrand the conference stems from our commitment to adapting to the needs of modern higher education.

While we remain committed to foundational topics such as living-learning programs and residential curriculum, the scope of this conference has expanded to encompass a wider range of critical areas in residential education. Building on foundational topics like living-learning programs, residential curriculum, student conduct, well-being, staff development, and leadership. This conference is for residence life professionals who are seeking to enhance the residential experience and foster student success.

Melissa Shivers and Gene Smith sit in orange chairs on stage, engaged in conversation. Melissa, on the left, gestures while speaking, holding a paper. Gene Smith, on the right, listens attentively, legs crossed. Both have water bottles nearby. A teacher with short gray hair and glasses smiles while helping two students at a computer in a classroom. Both students are smiling, and other students are working at computers in the background. A diverse group of nine people stand in front of international flags, each holding large letters that spell out #acuhoi, smiling and posing for the photo.
