We are pleased to announce the five individuals who will join continuing board members in 2027 for two- and three-year terms.

Newly elected board members include:

  • Chandra Myrick, University of Tennessee, Knoxville | Vice President (3-Year Presidential Cycle, 2027-2029)
  • Steve Harrison, Duke University | Finance & Corporate Records Officer (3-year term, 2027-2029)
  • Jeff Novak, University of Wisconsin-Madison | Business Practices and Enhancement Director (2-year term, 2027-2028)
  • Michelle Sujka, University of Cincinnati | Facilities & Physical Environment Director (2-year term, 2027-2028)
  • Phil Badaszewski, University of Delaware | Knowledge Enhancement Director (3-year term, 2027-2029)

Chandra Myrick serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Life at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she provides executive leadership across university housing, off-campus student living, communications, assessment, and technology. She has held student affairs leadership roles at the University of Tennessee, Florida State University, Georgia State University, and the University of Georgia. Chandra is a past president of SEAHO and has served as faculty for both ACUHO-I and regional institutes. She currently serves as ex officio student success director on the ACUHO-I Executive Board. Chandra holds a bachelor’s degree from Troy State University and master’s and doctoral degrees from Florida State University.

Steve Harrison serves as Associate Vice President for Resource Planning & Administration at Duke University, where he leads financial, administrative, facilities, human resources, and housing operations that support the student experience. Previously, he served as Vice President for Auxiliary Enterprises and Chief Sustainability Officer at Coastal Carolina University, overseeing a broad auxiliary portfolio and more than $80 million in annual revenue. His expertise spans financial stewardship, strategic planning, sustainability, governance, and operations. Steve has contributed to ACUHO-I through presentations, publications, and leadership and advisory roles.

Jeff Novak serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration and Director of University Housing at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he leads a housing and dining enterprise serving more than 11,000 residents with an annual budget of more than $150 million. Earlier in his career, he held housing leadership roles at the University of Central Florida and East Carolina University. Jeff earned a doctorate in educational leadership and degrees in psychology, student personnel, and mental health counseling from the University of Florida. He has served ACUHO-I as a conference program chair, institute faculty member, and committee volunteer.

Michelle Sujka serves as Associate Director of Housing Services at the University of Cincinnati, where she oversees capital projects, infrastructure planning, and long-term housing initiatives. She has held housing and residence life roles at Ferris State University, Eastern Illinois University, the University of South Florida, and the University of Cincinnati. Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Eastern Illinois University and a master’s degree in college student personnel from Western Illinois University. A past GLACUHO president and board member, she has contributed to ACUHO-I through the Womxn in Housing Network and ACUHO-I Foundation leadership.

Phil Badaszewski, or “Dr. B,” serves as Executive Director of Residence Life and Housing at the University of Delaware, where he leads housing operations and residence life while supporting broader student life priorities. Previously, he held senior housing roles at SUNY Buffalo State University and Florida Atlantic University, with additional experience at the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Georgia, and The Ohio State University. Phil is a former NEACUHO board member and currently serves as Editor of the Journal of College and University Student Housing. He has also contributed to ACUHO-I through the Governance Task Force, Foundation Annual Programs Committee, and a variety of faculty roles. He earned his doctorate in college student affairs administration from the University of Georgia and holds degrees from the University at Buffalo and The Ohio State University.
